Reflexology

Successful completion of this course will enable learners to join professional, recognised organisations including The Federation Of Holistic Therapists, The Association Of Reflexologists and The Complementary And Natural Healthcare Council

 

The following units are including in this diploma:

 

UV31268 Principles And Practice Of Complementary Therapies

UV31267 Business Practice For Complementary Therapies

UV31299 Knowledge Of Anatomy, Physiology And Pathology For Complementary Therapies

UV31302 Provide Reflexology For Complementary Therapies

 

The reflexology course runs over 9 full days on a monthly basis (with the exception of the first 2 weekends) followed by a final 1/2 day for assessment

 

There are no pre-entry requirements for this course

 

The cost is £1,190 which includes face-to-face training, manuals, online resources, email support and assessment

 

Learners will need to compile a portfolio of evidence, complete case studies and assignments.  Learners will be expected to complete 100 reflexology treatments before the end of the course. This is a requirement of VTCT which demonstrates the professional nature of this course

 

Learners will need to bring their evidence to a final 1/2 day session during which a practical assessment will be undertaken

 

Additional costs - £108.00 VTCT fee (2021-2022)

 

Learners are expected to wear salon uniform, minimal makeup, no nail polish and hair should be tied back and off the face.  If learners do not own a salon uniform, they may wear black trousers, flat closed-in black shoes, black socks and a plain black t-shirt or polo shirt

Reflexology Unit

The history of reflexology; zones, guidelines and reflexes; theories of how reflexology works; benefits and effects; reflexology techniques; professionalism and professional appearance; treatment environment; hygiene and safety in the salon; massage mediums; contra indications; contra actions; equipment needed; treatment adaptations; preparation for treatment; visual analysis; treatment procedure; home-care advice; hand reflexology; treatment evaluation; reflective practice; insurance and legislation

Assessment is by way of assignments. There is no external exam paper

 

Principles And Practice For Complementary Therapies Unit

The history, origins and theories of complementary therapies, legislation, codes of conduct, professional organisations, consultation and communication techniques, confidentiality, treatment planning and referrals

Assessment is by way of assignments. There is no external exam paper

 

Business Practice For Complementary Therapies Unit

Legislation, insurance, marketing and public relations, employment opportunities, business types and business plan

Assessment is by way of assignments.  There is no external exam paper
